Public Affairs provides a broad range of services to help you reach your strategic communications and marketing goals. As the central campus-level strategic communications unit, we provide leadership, training and tools in branding, crisis communications, event planning, graphic design, marketing, media relations, photography, social media, video production, web-based communication tools and writing/editing. We also manage the campus website, university-level social media accounts and Illinois in a Box, as well as the image and video databases; we respond to national ranking surveys and assist in handling Freedom of Information Act requests in addition to a wide array of special projects.
Groups within Public Affairs include the Big Ten Network, creating high-quality, non-athletic programming aired on the Big Ten Network; Executive Communications, crafting speeches, campus-level announcements, correspondence and other messaging for university leaders; the News Bureau, delivering research and campus-related press content and offering media training; Photography, capturing dynamic, high-quality photos for campus and unit-level needs, Social Media, offering strategy, best practices and resources for social media managers; Special Events, planning campus-level events such as Convocation and Commencement, as well as advising units on unit-level event planning; Strategic Branding and Marketing, providing brand guidelines, media buying and market research; Video Services, creating professional, high-quality marketing and promotional videos; and Web Services, which offers a variety of web-based tools to help achieve campus communications goals.
