Alicia is an anthropologist and funerary archaeologist who first joined the Illinois State Archaeological Survey in 2024. She has since done fieldwork across southern Illinois and serves on the Illinois State Archaeological Survey’s Outreach Committee. Her technical interests and expertise are in ceramic analysis, field survey, GIS, mapping, bioarchaeology, heritage and ethics, and NAGPRA compliance. Her research interests include understanding global relationships between dark tourism, heritage and memory, and the effects of those relationships on public perception, ethics and law throughout history.
