Esra is a working as a Scientific specialist, Hydrogeology at the Illinois State Water Survey in Prairie Research Institute since August 2022 . She previously received a M.S. degree in Hydrogéologie et Transferts at the Université de Poitiers, Poitiers, France.

Her interest is the learning groundwater/surface-water interaction. Computational Hydrology for Decision Support (CH4DS) research group has created four different ParFlow models to simulate groundwater rise (after dewatering shutoff) at the IDOT (Illinois Department of Transport) dewatering system in East St. Louis area. She is currently working on Parflow models to update Infrastructure Protection Analysis Modeling (IPAM) Report and MODFLOW groundwater models to the latest MODFLOW6 infrastructure.
