Katie Buckley is a Senior Scientific Specialist at the University of Illinois, working as a water resources outreach specialist at the Illinois State Water Survey. She helps to manage the private well program, a flagship public service program, which features the 10-lesson Private Well Class, an online self-paced curriculum for private well owners, and also includes monthly webinars, newsletters, hotline, help center, continuing education for environmental health professionals, and outreach events. She is a past adjunct professor at Parkland College. She previously worked for IL-IN Sea Grant, Illinois Environmental Protection Agency, The Ohio State University's Stone Laboratory, and Wayne National Forest.
She received her Master's of Science in Environmental Sciences with a certificate in Geographic Information Systems at the University of Illinois at Springfield in 2015 and her Bachelor's of Arts in Environmental Biology with a certificate of Environmental Sciences at Ohio University in 2011.
