Academic Positions

The Human Resources Business Analyst maintains and enhances PRI's human resources activities by planning, implementing, and coordinating integral duties and responsibilities related to personnel/finance tools and resource applications, employment practices, employee relations, and human resources policies and programs for PRI.  Provides knowledgeable and specialized support to both internal and external customers.  

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a liaison between HR and IT to develop, implement, and customize PRI MIS systems.
  • Monitor and apply changes to PRI's HR and Finance systems.  Ensures accurate and up-to-date data and engage quality control and oversight of the data.
  • Research, recommend, and implement new policies, procedures, and improvements to internal operating and data systems.
  • Implement and coordinate productivity and compensation metrics through PRI MIS system.
  • Coordinate USC security access.
  • Generate reports from campus databases/applications.
  • Interpret, apply, and advise staff of policies and procedures.
  • Serve as the contract for PRI's notice of nonreappointments.
  • Assist with annual coordination of salary planner activities including data manipulations and analysis.
  • Serve as resource contact for supervisor and staff.
  • Support the development, implementation, and coordination of an employee merit program and staff training program.
  • Prepare and submit SURS employment verification, prior service, and retirement information
  • Serve as back-up for bi-weekly payroll functions, including adjustments, by verifying, auditing, and posting hours of work and/or leave for civil service, academic hourly, and student employees.
  • Serve as back-up for hiring activities for all position categories, conducting new employee orientations, and administers FMLA and workers' compensation tasks/paperwork.
  • Perform a wide variety of assignments of a sensitive and confidential nature that require working knowledge of research and service operations and personnel.
