Ryan serves as Lead of Capture Permitting and Regulatory at ISTC and is responsible for facilitating and supporting projects in a range of maturity, from FEED study to demonstration projects.  A primary focus of the team Ryan works with is developing projects for the removal of carbon dioxide from large point sources like power generation and cement manufacturing as well as direct removal of carbon dioxide from the air through systems like direct air capture (DAC) or carbon dioxide reduction (CDR). In addition, Ryan leads and support research projects on carbon dioxide utilization and storage to create an end market for the captured carbon dioxide. 

Prior to joining ISTC, Ryan’s background focused in regulatory, continuous improvement, and implementing GHG reduction and other sustainability projects in the Food and Agriculture processing industry. Ryan has also held assistantships with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and the University Council on Water Resources while completing his Masters of Science at Southern Illinois University.
