Stephanie Brownstein joined the Illinois Sustainable Technology Center (ISTC) in March 2019 and is an Assistant Scientist, Research Engineer.

Stephanie is responsible for facilitating the design and scale-up of novel sustainable technologies. Her focus is developing pilot systems that can be deployed at a variety of host sites including power plants, wastewater treatment facilities, and industrial facilities. This includes identifying regulatory and permit guidelines, timelines, and costs in order to ensure the pilot systems are successfully tested in a field environment.
