Steve is director of external communications and government relations for the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He provides leadership and strategy across the College’s extensive government relations and stakeholder engagements, and is an active member of the UI System's Council on Governmental and External Relations.
Previous positions include government relations and communications director for University of Illinois Extension; assistant to the executive director of the Prairie Research Institute (University of Illinois); director of California Hydropower Reform Coalition (Berkeley, California), and program coordinator for Columbia Basin Fish and Wildlife Authority (Portland, Oregon).
Steve has a MPP from the Goldman School of Public Policy, University of California-Berkeley and a BA from Wesleyan University’s Science in Society Program.
