I have worked as a bedrock geologist in the Basin Analysis Lab at ISGS since 2022. My work focuses on critical minerals, stratigraphy, and subsurface mapping of Paleozoic bedrock in Illinois and the US midcontinent. Using drill core, surface exposures, and well cuttings, my research explores Earth's sedimentary, oceanographic, tectonic, and climate systems in deep time to reconstruct sedimentary basins and their evolution. Through the USGS Earth Mapping Resources Initiative, our lab group aims to understand how these factors impact the formation and distribution of sedimentary ore deposits using a variety of geochemical and analytical techniques.
