• Direct and lead staff in fulfilling the mission and vision of the Geoscience Information Stewardship Section.
• Explore funding opportunities for cyber infrastructure, data management, preservation, dissemination, or database development.
• With the ISGS Geological Records Unit work to streamline processes and convert hard copy records to digital entries.
• Assist ISGS staff with questions, issues, or needs concerning geoscience data.
• Analyzes and develops data and information management strategies.
• Investigates new and developing technologies for data access and distribution.
• Directs the design, development, and maintenance of primary databases and custom applications, including data models, standards, user interface, documentation, and quality control protocols.
• Oversees the development of new and existing data models and applications to maximize efficiency and to preserve system integrity.
• Develops guidelines, standards, and procedures to guide and facilitate cost-effective, integrated life cycle information management and warehousing.
